Collaborative Chaos: A Sad Saga of Stolen Stories

The project was to create a zine discussing an artist or art from which we felt deserved more attention. The information needed to engage audiences and educate them of the artist of your choice. I made the decision to craft the zine around two comic book artists whose work is often overshadowed by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko. When composing my zine I wanted it to feel like reading a comic book. This thought process influenced many of my design decisions, such as when choosing typography, color palette, and the titles to each of my pages theming them around the alliteration seen in older comic books. There was the problem of the zine feeling flat at first, but this was fixed by adding a drop shadow to the text boxes to add a layer of dimensionality. The final outcome was a vibrant and colorful zine both taking inspiration from, and educating about the past.
